Just a quick update...

Well, the blog has been quiet but the work has been continuing! We've been planting a garden as well as fixing plumbing issues and raising two new chickens.

Take a look at our new gorgeous bath-tub faucet.

This gorgeous faucet came from a couple who have already survived their own remodel...and we are so excited to have this lovely addition to our tub! Eric had to be creative with the plumbing as most of the existing plumbing has been in place since 1907, but we've got it going with no leaks! Yay!!! We still need to add the pretty drain, waste plunger, etc, but we can handle that with the future bath remodel.

On another note, we've been planting a lot in the yard. We've got a few new flower beds going and have planted some veggies over the garage. Here's a look at our first harvest!

Tell you what...that strawberry split four ways was the loveliest strawberry ever!! We've planted lettuces, beans, peas, cucumbers, strawberries, herbs and tomatoes. I'll post more pictures of our rooftop garden soon!

We got two new chicks at Easter. My brother has taken some gorgeous pics of them, so I'll save uploading those for their own blog entry...

 

Lastly, we are working on a patio and a fish pond in the front yard. I'll post pics and the progress soon! 

So as you can see...we have a lot going on, we are just bad at posting updates! Stay tuned!!

Yes, we are still alive!!

Yes, it's been a while since I have posted to this site. I had hoped to continue to catch everyone up on everything in order of it happening, but have fallen behind in that regard! Since my last posting, we've been doing some painting projects (with the help of Eric's parents...details to follow), but mostly, we took a break during the holidays and recent months to just focus on living (and relaxing a bit)! With all the moving that occurred last year, we were pretty burned out and needed the break! Anyway, we are back at it with unpacking more and more boxes each day and planning more projects!

So...I'm going to go ahead and just post some details of our current projects, and also mix in some of the past projects so that everyone can see the full picture of how far we've come AND I don't have to wait to post things I'm excited about NOW! So, it sounds like it's all about me huh? LOL

Anyway, this past weekend I spent time setting up the boy's bedroom. We've finally separated them into twin beds (they were fighting being in the queen bed together), and I also wanted them to feel they have their own 'spaces' even if they have to share a room for now. To catch you up, their bedroom was the first room painted in the house. Only the floor and the register remain to be completed. I'll have to show you later what this room looked like before (you can see a hint of it by the floor below the carpet and bright yellow register) but for now...just enjoy the video!



DISCLOSURE... We have NO idea whatsoever...why a set of 'birthing' video's come up after the video plays. Seeing a naked chick squatting next to a kiddie pool is no-how related to a video of the boys's new room! Youtube...what's wrong with you? So, sorry if this scene burned your eyes out!!!

Anyway, it was priceless and worth all the effort when I saw their faces coming into the room! They said "WOW, cool!!". And seeing daddy happy too made it even more golden. Yay!!
